How to report a competition concern or incorrect listing

Send an app-data correction to The Comp App, an entry or prize query to the operator, and an advertising concern to the ASA where appropriate. Keep the URL, date and relevant evidence. These routes serve different purposes and none guarantees a refund.

Incorrect details in The Comp App

Email support@competitiongroup.co.uk with the competition or operator URL, the detail that looks wrong and when you checked it. A redacted screenshot can help show a mismatch.

Do not include passwords, full payment-card details or identity documents. We can investigate the information displayed in our service. We do not control the operator’s inventory, accept its entries, process its payments or select its winners.

A problem with an entry, payment or prize

Use the operator’s published support and complaints process. Identify the draw and explain the specific issue, the relevant dates and what response you are seeking. Keep entry confirmation, applicable terms and a copy of the correspondence.

If a payment appears unauthorised or fraudulent, contact your payment provider promptly through its official app or an independently verified number. Ask what options apply to that transaction. Do not assume an advertising complaint starts a payment dispute.

An advert that appears misleading or irresponsible

The ASA complaint page explains how to raise a concern about advertising. Keep the whole advert where possible, not just a headline: the landing page, entry conditions, date seen and location can all help explain the issue.

Describe the particular claim or missing condition. For example, say that two pages gave different entry deadlines, rather than making a broad accusation about the business. The ASA’s role concerns advertising; it is not the operator’s customer-service department.

An unexpected prize message or suspected scam

Stop before sending money or sensitive information. Go independently to the business’s known site and check the message through a contact you obtain there. Citizens Advice’s scam guidance explains further checks and links to reporting help.

If you have shared a password, change it through the genuine service and any other account where you reused it. If payment details are involved, speak to the provider through an official channel. Save evidence without sharing it publicly with personal details visible.

Worried about your own participation?

You do not need to prove wrongdoing by an operator to ask for help. Take a break from browsing, switch off promotional notifications and ask operators about their pause or exclusion options. Those controls are individual to each service.

Our safer-participation page brings together practical steps and support links. Removing the app alone does not close operator accounts, stop subscriptions or activate exclusion on their websites.
