# Safer participation. Clear information. Your own pace.

The Comp App is for adults aged 18 and over. Competitions should not be treated as income, a way to recover earlier spending or a solution to money problems. You can browse without entering, leave a draw behind or stop altogether.

## Our commitments on this website

- Factual information with clear limits: listings and historical app previews are not endorsements or promises.
- No claims of guaranteed wins, financial security, approved operators or complete market coverage.
- Practical guidance on entry terms, published ticket numbers, free routes and operator checks.
- Clear source links, correction contacts and support information that you can access without an account.

## A signatory to the voluntary code

The Comp App appears under “Other relevant signatories” in the [government’s voluntary-code publication](https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/voluntary-code-of-good-practice-for-prize-draw-operators/voluntary-code-of-good-practice-for-prize-draw-operators), checked on 11 September 2026. Signing is a commitment to good practice; it is not government endorsement or a guarantee about a listed operator.

We are an information service. Independent operators handle entries, payments, account controls, draws and prizes. We cannot set a spending limit or exclude you across their services. Read [what the code means](https://compapp.co.uk/guides/prize-draw-code-of-practice).

## Keep decisions within your own limits

If you choose to spend, decide a limit in advance across all the sites you use. Keep money for essentials separate and never borrow to enter. A limit is not an amount you need to use, and earlier spending does not make a win more likely.

Give yourself time to read the terms. Disable app or operator notifications if they add pressure. A countdown or discount should not override a decision to pause.

## Taking a break

- Turn off promotional notifications in your phone settings and review operator marketing preferences.
- Ask each operator about spending limits, pauses, exclusion and any recurring payments or subscriptions.
- Remember that deleting The Comp App does not close operator accounts or exclude you from their websites.
- For help deleting your Comp App account, use [our support page](https://compapp.co.uk/support).

## Support, without another entry

If spending is causing concern, [MoneyHelper has information on dealing with debt and finding advice](https://www.moneyhelper.org.uk/en/money-troubles/dealing-with-debt). [Citizens Advice can help you understand possible scams](https://www.citizensadvice.org.uk/consumer/scams/check-if-something-might-be-a-scam/) and other consumer problems.

If you need someone to talk to about distress, [Samaritans](https://www.samaritans.org/how-we-can-help/contact-samaritan/) explains its support options. Choose the service that fits your situation; we are not a debt adviser or crisis-support service.

For an issue with an advert, an operator or an app listing, use our [reporting guide](https://compapp.co.uk/guides/report-a-competition-concern).
